I will never be shaken

We have quite a bit going on right now, with a 7 month old and a 2.5 year old I'm pretty busy already, and then add that we are getting ready for several moves this summer before our final move into our new home hopefully sometime around August, I definitely feel that we have a lot going on.

So it's important that I remember to find time to meet with God, so that I can keep my cool during all of this (and my family can testify that it's not a pretty sight when I don't :))

In my quiet time this morning I came upon Psalm 62 TNIV:

1 Truly my soul finds rest in God;
   my salvation comes from him.
2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
   he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

Here is another frilly soft blanket that I made for a sweet little baby named Callie.

I forgot to take a picture of the soft back but it was soft and white. :)
My prayer today is that I always find rest in God, and I praise him for ALWAYS being my rock, and salvation. And, as scary as it is to say out loud.. I pray that will NEVER be shaken.... And I pray that for you too. xoxo

Finding my own way

      At a baby shower this last weekend I realized that it had been exactly one year since sewing my first blanket! What an exciting year.

     Sewing has been such a fun journey for me. I feel so blessed that I am able to thrive creatively by sewing.  My heart is continually blessed by this opportunity to show my love by making gifts for people.

My first ruffle, not too shabby! :)

loving the stitching on my fashion mate singer sewing machine.

     The blanket shown here was a gift to a sweet little baby girl named Emmerson Rose. This was a very exciting project for me, because I really branched out from the style of blankets that I have previously been making and put together my own pattern. Quilted top, snugly bottom, and romantic ruffle.  There are many more of these to come! Enjoy. xoxo

A REAL QUILT

Yay, Here is my first REAL quilt! I made this quilt while pregnant with Griffin for his nursery. I went with the plaid/ tractor theme because I thought this would be cute for a nursery, but boyish enough for him to still use for his toddler bed (which I now know how fast it will be here.)
It was a 3 week class for 3 hours on Sundays (a little time for myself that I took advantage of before  baby #2 was born. :)) I am so thankful I took the class. I learned so many tips and tricks that has really improved my overall sewing. The binding is difficult to do because you are supposed to hand-sew the whole back side, so I'm not to sure how often I will do a quilt like this again, but I do love the results. xo

Time is flying by.

Stuffed Butterfly and Matching Blanket

Wow, I can't believe my last post was about 8 months ago! My goal was to get this back going within six months after Griffin was born, and he will be 7 months in 5 days, so I'm sort of on track. :)

The past 8 months have been so busy for me. We bought a house, sold our house, had a baby boy, had a birthday party for my daughter who turned two, the holidays came and went, I trained for a half-marathon which I'm running this Sunday, and everything else that went into surviving the past 6 months with 2 children that are 23 months apart, but I've made it.. and I'd love to start blogging again.
Griffin Joseph 6 months old
Even though the blogging has been on hold, the crafting has certainly not stopped! I've made several new blankets, have even branched out into sewing some fun purses, and thrown together a few home decorating projects.
Giselle Elizabeth 2.5

Also, aside from cleaning the house non-stop for the past 6 months while we were trying to sell our home.  I started doing simple lesson plans for Giselle and would love to start sharing what we are working on, on here too.  But, we will see how that goes, as we are moving in a month and will be living in a few different places this summer until our house is ready for us to move into sometime this July or August.

Alright, I'd better run, but I am so happy to be posting again, and hopefully I will have a sewing post up soon.
